The diving school at the Maritim Hotel Mauritius is staffed by
qualified professionals and teaches both guests and non-guests
the special knowledge needed for safe scuba diving. One diving
lesson in the pool per person and stay is free of charge for
hotel guests.
Dive instructors
The diving school is run by 2 PADI dive instructors - all highly
qualified. A dive-master, two skipper and an employee staffing
the reception round out the young and professional team.
Safety standards
Regardless of skill or previous experience, no dive or dive
course starts before every participant has read, understood and
signed the following forms: Diver Identification Form, Insurance
Form of the MSDA (Mauritian Scuba Diving Association), MSDA
Health Form and the MSDA Safety Form.
Dive gear and
equipment
The diving school is equipped with the following Scubapro gear:
goggles and snorkels, full-body wetsuits (5 mm), fins, BCDs
(with manual inflation), reg with octopus and depth gauge,
aluminium and steel oxygen bottles, refill compressor, weights
and weight belts. The dive boat is equipped with 2 outboards, a
telephone, life vests, first aid kit and oxygen.
