
Air Mauritius is the national carrier of
Mauritius and flies direct to several European, Asian, African and
Regional destinations – more than 25. The company is also proud of
its young fleet which is composed of mainly Airbus aircraft – A340 -
300’s, A319-100’s, two new A340-300E and A330-200 as well. For the
island destinations – Rodrigues and Reunion – ATR72-500 aircraft are
operated.
Fleet
AIRBUS A340-300E
Air Mauritius acquired two new A340-300E in December 2006. Bearing
the names Le Flamboyant and Le Chamarel, both aircraft are
reconfigured in a 2 Class Cabin layout of 34 Business and 266
Economy (Y).
Up front, the Business class is fitted with new generation lie-flat
seats. Laid-out in a 60-inch pitch, the airline's choice of cocoon
seats features state-of-the-art technology and individual comfort
with fingertip control. The Economy seats are at 31-inch pitch.
AIRBUS A319-100
With the A319, Air Mauritius elected to blend its own standard of
in-flight service with those set by Airbus for single-aisle cabin
configuration.
Enlarged stowage bins, a wide aisle for faster turnaround and
greater seat pitch have been designed to provide enhanced individual
comfort on board the two A319, named Mon Choisy and Blue Bay. While
our passengers sit back and enjoy our in-flight entertainment, they
will be able to experience the dedicated service provided by our
cabin crew.
AIRBUS A340-300
Paying homage to the fauna of the island, the 4 A340-300 classic
bear the names of the endemic birds of Mauritius : Pink Pigeon,
Cardinal, Parakeet and Paille-en-Queue
Tailored to meet the needs of long range markets, this aircraft
offers the possibility of direct point to point services to the
distant Air Mauritius’ and tourist markets. Equipped with advanced
satellite communications systems, the Airbus comprises navigation by
satellite as well as telephone facilities.
The A340-300 C are configured in a 2 class layout of 34 lie-flat
seats in Business class and 264 seats in Economy
AIRBUS A330-200
Air Mauritius took delivery of a new A330-200 in December 2007. The
aircraft is named “Trochetia” after the national endemic flower of
the Republic of Mauritius. A second A330-200 named “Nénuphar” after
the famous aquatic plant which grows in abundance at the SSR Botanic
Garden at Pamplemousses, joined the fleet on 29 October 2009. The
A330-200 is configured in two-class configuration which will be the
new product line of the whole Air Mauritius wide-bodied fleet,
offering 24 business class lie flat seats and 251 economy seats.
The business class lie-flat seats are laid out in 2-2-2
configuration at 60-inch pitch. The cocoon seat features
state-of-the-art technology and individual comfort with fingertip
control. The economy class is laid out in 2-4-2 configuration at
31-inch pitch. Passengers in both classes will also enjoy
state-of-the art in-flight entertainment system, a truly huge AVOD -
Audio & Video On Demand - menu offering of 31 digital-quality,
multi-language video options together with a library of 60 CDs with
play-list functionality.

The A340-300E aircraft is equipped with

Inflight Meals
Air Mauritius is pleased to inform you of its general policy
concerning the meals uplift across its network.
As a general rule, beef, veal, pork and all products derived
from these, will not be supplied on our flights.
Alcohol and all products derived from beef, veal and pork will
not be used in the cooking methods nor contained in any
ready-to-eat products supplied on our flights.
Air Mauritius does not guarantee a food allergy-free environment
on board its flights, inclusive of peanut allergy.
Special Meals
Special Meals, to conform to medical or religious requirements,
can be ordered by those passengers who are not able to partake
of the standard featured menu. Only special meals listed below
can be ordered. These are in accordance with IATA standards and
meal codes.
It is recommended that your special meal request is made at time
of booking for your flight The minimum advanced notice required
by the caterers to submit a special meal order is twenty-four
hours prior to flight departure, except in the case of KSML –
Kosher Meal, where a minimum notice of 48 hours is required..
Air Mauritius shall use its best endeavour to provide special
meals ordered as per laid down procedures. Air Mauritius shall
not be liable towards any travel agency, passenger or agent in
any way whatsoever, in case any special meal duly ordered is
unavailable on any of its flights.
In-flight Entertainment
A340-300 Enhanced / A330-200
On the A340-300E and A330-200 aircraft, in-flight entertainment
is brought to new heights with state of the art technology and
latest available products. Both aircraft types offer Panasonic
3000i system featuring fully interactive AVOD (Audio Video on
Demand) by which the passenger has stop, rewind and forward,
play and pause functions at his finger tip with digital quality
audio and video options.
